We all like to have a fresh smelling home!  For which the best solution is having a clean home first and foremost.  However even the cleanest of homes sometimes need a little help!  If you are reading this, you probably know I love to cook and I often do so with onions.  The thing about onions is albeit flavorful and G’liciously good for you, they are not so good for your “fresh smelling home”.  Fear not, I have got the perfect solution for that onion after-smell and oh yes, it is cheap, easy and 100% natural.

Before you reach for that plug-in…

Boil the rinds of a juiced lemon and some eucalyptus and let it simmer for a good thirty minutes!

You can do this with endless combinations: lemons and rosemary, limes and mint leaves, mint leaves and lavender (a good one for relaxing at night).

Most “freshener” plug-ins, deodorizers, scented candles, etc. are loaded with chemicals that help mask odors, not get rid of them.  The chemicals found in these products can be harmful to your health and the environment.  And hello $$, those air fresheners can be pricey, while a bag of eucalyptus costs less than a dollar and a little goes a long way!  Depending on your supermarket and the kind you buy, lemons will cost anywhere from sixty cents to a dollar, even so we are using the discards that we would normally throw away!

After you are done having fun in the kitchen, boil some citrus rinds with your favorite herbs, sit back and enjoy your cheap, easy, natural and G’Liciously good for you aromatherapy!

  2. I really appreciate this post. I?

  3. Nice color choice on the blog. It is really easy on my eyes and I have bad eyes too so that’s a really big compliment lol

  4. Amazing weblog! Do you might have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own weblog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a totally free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? You’ll find so several choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Appreciate it!
    Welcome to my website http://www.about-dogs.zoomshare.com.

    • Thank you! WordPress.com is free and fairly easy to navigate, it is definitely a good starting point. My experience has only been with wordpress.com and wordpress.org, but there are other platforms out there such as blogger.com and tumbler. Check out problogger.net and becomeablogger.com for lots of tips on how to get started. Good luck.
